We're Hiring: Purchase Ledger Clerk (Apprentice Opportunity)
đź“Ť Location: Head Office, Phoenix Way, Swansea Enterprise Park, SA7 9HZ
💰 Salary: £14,722.50 – £23,809.50 per year (depending on age and year of apprenticeship, in line with government apprentice wage guidelines)
đź•° Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
About the Role
Are you looking to kick-start your career in finance while gaining practical experience and a recognised qualification? Join CES as a Purchase Ledger Clerk (Apprentice) and work alongside our experienced Finance team.
You’ll support key finance operations, including invoice processing, account reconciliation, and supplier record management. This opportunity is ideal for someone starting out in accounting and looking to build strong foundations within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the full procure-to-pay process
- Match purchase invoices to orders and delivery notes
- Input and reconcile invoices, credit notes, and payments using accounting software
- Maintain daily bank cash book entries and reconcile credit card statements
- Set up and manage supplier accounts
- Prepare BACS payment runs and generate remittances
- Support with month-end tasks, including accruals and reporting
- Handle finance-related queries and general admin tasks
What We're Looking For
- A keen interest in finance and accounting
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills and a positive team attitude
- Previous purchase ledger or admin experience is desirable but not essential
